Your Local Friendly Sniper Aura

It was the first couple hours of the day. The sun hadn’t yet risen. The city was quiet, asleep. However a man with a habit of waking up early was about to start his day. Old habits die hard after all. He pushed the blankets to the side and took a couple seconds to wake up, then opened the window. His face burned at the sensation of the cold morning air, he took a deep breath. Throat burning, he smiled, the one thing that never changed was the comforting stillness of early mornings.
Thud!
The peace of the morning was broken for only a moment. His lifeless body now laying quietly on the floor.
Aura yawned, her eyes watering from waking up this early. She started to pack her gun away. Why did her mission have to be so early? They thought she could be pushed around just because she was young. She promised herself that she would stand up for herself next time. Couldn't dwell on that though, she had to get the stone off the body as quickly as possible.
Aura had changed into her daily clothes, dropped off the stone and the shotgun at the headquarters. She now had her guitar case hanging on her shoulders instead of the gun case. She looked like a regular young girl. Aura made her way to their backyard so that she could get into her room without waking anyone up. Aura lived in a small two story high house with her mom and dad. Mrs. and Mr. Mcora. So it was easy to climb up to her room which had a small balcony. Aura had left the balcony door unlocked. She slowly slid the door open and stepped inside. Aura closed the door and locked it this time. She let out a big sigh, she hated waking up early.
Aura turned to her bed, she was about to throw herself on it. But instead of her fluffy pillows she saw her parents deadly stares. She took a step back, her back on the glass door. ‘Aura! Where were you?’ her mother shouted. Mrs. Mcora had light brown hair that came down to her waist, her golden eyes were red from crying. A wave of guilt hit Aura in the gut, she felt her early breakfast pushing up from her stomach. She hated seeing her mom like this. Aura was scared to look up at her father. His bushy eyebrows sitting right above his big olive eyes were giving away everything. He was angry, no, disappointed, no, angry and disappointed. Aura quickly turned her eyes to the ground, his father looking at her like she was a disappointment; that was the single thing she couldn't stand. Aura tried to answer but she was too overwhelmed to talk, how stupid could she be to get caught. She never should’ve taken such an early mission. Or at least she should have said she was going to be staying at a friend’s house, though Aura wasn’t sure if they would have believed she had a friend to stay with. ‘Aura to the living room.’ Mr. Mcora said, ‘Now!’. Aura still looking down dragged her feet down the stairs, this was going to be a long night.
Aura was laying in her bed. It was 7 am and she had only slept for 2 hours last night. Aura turned to her side, she looked at the picture next to her bed. It was Aura and her parents. Her parents each had their hand on her shoulders and they were smiling so wide. It looked almost painful. The picture was taken in Mersin, turkey. It was her mother's hometown. The scenery was beautiful. There were only two colors in the background, green and blue. They were standing in front of a waterfall. Aura turned to the other side, she could feel the refreshing smell of nature and the sweet taste of the fresh air. She wished she was there right now, without doubts, worries or fears.
The talk hadn’t gone smoothly. Her parents basically scolded her for hours about how Aura was living in their house therefore she had to follow the rules of the house. Aura needed to be more careful next time. When Aura went downstairs her mother stopped her and sat her down at the dinner table. She had made a wonderful breakfast which consisted of menemen and simit. Aura loved Turkish food and her mother knew that. Aura had a quiet breakfast with her mom and dad. When she finished she thanked her mother and said goodbye to her father. The first words she had spoken since last night. Her mother placed a kiss on Auras cheek before she could leave for school. Aura felt guilty for having such a loving family considering what she did as a job.
